Same Sex Marriage

30 May

This blog is more of a personal one, something I normally do not divulge in as Joe and I like to keep our private life private. But how can we remain quiet when our rights as humans are denied? We were married by an archbishop from the Catholic Church, received our Civil Union in Vermont, then received marriage certificates in New York, Connecticut and Iowa. We’ve been together for 26 years this September (2012). Being married was a distant dream of ours when we first met; we made that dream a reality!

Everyone deserves to have their dreams come true. Everyone deserves to be married to the person they love. So help support equal rights and share this with family and friends.

The video was edited to fit into a 10 minute segment; please watch and listen to the archbishop speak, then, share this to help our fight at gaining equality.

    Great guys!
I believe that telling one’s personal story is an excellent way to help change minds about marriage equality,

We never thought of posting our wedding, it took hearing a heart-wrenching story of a 15 year old taking his life because he was gay to make us realize that that we had something special to share. Thanks so much for your kind words.

I just don’t get why Same Sex Marriage is not legal in so many parts of Europe. Although the UK has Civil Partnerships, I do not see why full marriage is not yet legal here?

Hopefully, before the next election, legislation will be passed in Parliament. The population are happy to accept it, so what is taking so long. The wedding video was beautiful, and the bishop spoke some wise and well researched words.

My wife & I discussed the gay marriage issue & came to the conclusion that if gays wish to marry because they are in love, then let them! Isn’t love, love? They should also be able to adopt children, I would rather see a child growing up with two men or two women that will love and guide them, then being abused and neglected by a straight couple. So Joe and Craig, seeing this video was great. My wife and I are happy for you and we hope that someday society can be happy for you too.

Craig and Joe, How did I miss these post of yours since Ocala Nat Forest? I just learned of this posts from our friend, Chalres the director!
I was unable to view the video – it says it is private.
I agree with you and the gay community regarding marriage. I think that there is a silent majority in the usa that also agrees with you, and that gay marriages will be the norm in a few years. I also agree with the comment by dr william steadford. Unfortunately, the anti-gay minority in the usa is too loud and too vocal, and it gives the perception that their voice is the voice of the majority.

Thanks for the support. Something happened to the video and when I tried to “fix” it, it went private. YouTube tells me it will be fixed in 12 to 30 days! Something about privacy issues or something. I hope it will be fixed before then.
